George Chao, President
With a BS from U.C. Berkeley in Engineering Physics, George works in Lawrence Berkeley National Lab as a IC Design Engineer. He would like to help himself and others to achieve their dream career path through various professional seminars and social network events. He likes to play tennis and basketball for fun. His 5 year plan is to become financial independent through investing in stock and real estate and help others to achieve the same goal. One of his goals for the upcoming years is to structure a good Mentorship Program to find more great/passion mentors to help more people who need the mentorship in the field. Connection the mentors and the mentees is a very important key. |
Elizabeth Li, Vice President and CNY gala chair
Elizabeth Li, program manager at Cisco System working on establishing legal entity world wide for Cisco. Graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with Accounting major. Chinese dance is her life long passion and still actively performing in Bay Area. |
Jennifer Gu, Director, Public Relationship
After 6 years working with a production team at Walt Disney World Co. in Florida, Jennifer started her new career as an assistant supporting the Corporate and Securities Group at the law firm in Palo Alto. Her interests include watching movies, reading, concerts, badminton, swimming, visiting fine art museums and traveling. |
Sonya Li, Director, Social
Sonya Li is an Electrical Engineer who works at a Semiconductor company in silicon valley. In her spare time, she enjoys all the fun activities such as ping-pong, hiking, dancing, sight seeing and movies. |
Jessica Yu, Director, Sponsorship
Jessica Yu is working as logistics director at an international trade company. Her interests include reading, badminton, fine art, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with friends. |
Xiong Liu, Director, Culture
Xiong Liu got BSEE from Fudan Univ. and M.S.E.E. from UCLA. He is working as a RF and mixed signal IC design engineer at Marvell. He likes to Karaoke and play basketball. Swimming and tennis are also his favorites. |
Lily (Xian) Cao, Treasurer
Lily (Xian) Cao came to the U.S. in 2000 from Shanghai, China. She graduated from UCLA with Business Economics major and Accounting minor. She is now working at Synnex as a Global Support Coordinator, managing tasks transferred to China. In her own words, "I like hiking, skiing and badminton. My belief: treat others like you want to be treated, then you will be happy forever." |
Sharon Li, Event Manager
Sharon graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS Degree in EECS. She was a committee member in SWE and IEEE while in college. She's currently working as an Information Security Professional while trying to live her life to the fullest. In her spare time, Sharon enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking dance and guitar classes, and volunteering at community events in S.F. Bay Area. |
Chun-Mei Zhao, Event Manager
Chun-Mei came to the San Francisco bay area in 2003 and has since worked as a research scholar at an independent educational foundation. Always intrigued by the breadth and richness of human talents and life experiences, she enjoys participating in community activities and meeting new friends. She believes each person has a unique way of contributing to a community and thus facilitating the emergence of a solid and nurturing community that in turn fosters its members' personal development and self renewal. She is currently actively involved in the CNetwork Mentoring Program, an on-going series of events designed to enhance professional development of CNetwork members. She is also a co-host of the CNetwork monthly happy hour. She enjoys reading, hiking, and having tea with friends in a leisure Sunday afternoon. |
Fang-Jie Mou, Director, Senior Services
Mr. Mou came from China to the U.S. in 2001. He has devoted many years on Chinese culture programs and served as the vice president of Wuhan Senior University. He founded "Hua-Qing Network" with the mission to help the parents of overseas Chinese professionals to fit into the local society. In 2003, he started to work at Sunnyvale Community Center as a manager of the "Chinese Kang-le Club", a famous club for senior Chinese in S.F. Bay Area. Mr. Mou got his driver's license at age 69. He is also a certified Notary Public. The mission of the club: friendship, happiness, and health. |
Lynn Shi, Interest Group Leader
When Lynn first moved to the Bay Area in 2000, he didn't join any Chinese community, since there are many other ethnic associations here. He feels the diversity in the Bay Area is truly wonderful. Leading the interest group was entirely by chance. Since he likes playing volleyball, with Jenny Cao's help, they started a team under CNetwork name, only to find out that the old CNetwork team used to be a formidable contender in the Bay Area. It's been many years now, and it has a wonderful group of people playing regularly. Lynn studied in Fu Dan University ( Shanghai ) and transferred to MIT for his bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. His interests include tennis, volleyball, hiking, fine arts, languages, and traveling. Two of his mottos are: "sic transit gloria mundi", and, logically followed by, "carpe diem". |
Tony Huang, Event Manager
Tony Huang is working as a software engineer in S.F. Bay Area. His interests include badminton, tennis, traveling and movies. |
Wing Zhao, Event Manager
Wing is from Guangzhou, China. She came to S.F. Bay Area in 2004. She is doing medical research as a post-doc at Stanford University now. She joined CNetwork committee in 2006 to serve the Chinese community and meet new friends. She likes dancing, swimming, rock climbing and other fun activities in her spare time. |
Zeke (Zhan-xiang) Huang, Director, IT + Webmaster
Zeke (Zhan-xiang) Huang is working at Yahoo! He graduated from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and got his MS in Computer Science at University of Virginia. He used to be volunteering at CSSS of University of Virginia. He enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, water-rafting, ski, etc. He likes to play volleyball and basketball in his spare time. |
Mei Lei, Event Manager
Mei is a Software Engineer and working in a network security company in S.F. Bay Area. Her interests include playing ping-pong, hiking, dancing, karaoke and sight seeing. |
Xinming(Simon) He, Hiking Event Organizer
Xinming earned his BS and MS from Peking University and PhD from USC. Before coming to the bay area in 2006, he had been running an active hiking club for USC CSSA for multiple years in Los Angeles area (thousands of photos can be found at http://netweb.usc.edu/xinming/hiking_club.html). Personal interests include hiking, snowboarding, biking, and badminton. |

Linda is working in the finance department of an IT company in Bay area. During her spare time, she likes hiking, skiing, playing badminton and making new friends. |

Keith is the CNetwork dance party coordinator. A man with a mission, he wants to turn fellow Silicon Valley engineers into suave ballroom dancers 8-) Among other things, Keith created mydanz.com, has a Ph.D. in ECE, and invented the core technologies behind Bit Torrent.
